Crawfish Boil for Books

Kappa’s national philanthropy, Reading Is Fundamental, promotes childhood literacy, encouraging reading and learning in young children, especially those who cannot afford to buy their own books. As members of the Athens community, the women of Kappa Kappa Gamma have chosen to support a local organization, Books For Keeps, which works to improve children’s reading achievements. The UGA chapter of Kappa wanted to benefit kids of Athens, providing them with books to read over the summer when school is out of session. In order to raise money for Books for Keeps, Kappa Kappa Gamma held their annual Crawfish Boil and Color Run last spring. Kappa is so happy to be a part of a kind, local organization, and they truly enjoy seeing kids light up when they receive their books for summer.
