This past Wednesday, November 2nd, Alpha Gamma Delta and Delta Tau Delta joined forces to put on Chicken & Waffles, a philanthropy event benefitting the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. JDRF is a charitable organization dedicated to funding type one diabetes research, and also is Delta Tau Delta’s philanthropy. Alpha Gamma Delta’s philanthropy is the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation, which benefits juvenile diabetes research and education, so JDRF is a cause near and dear to Alpha Gams.
The event was held from 5-7pm at the Alpha Gam house, and waffles from Waffle House were served with Chick-Fil-A chicken. In addition to food, the event also featured a performance from Hill Elliott. Alpha Gam sisters ended up raising around $4,000 for JDRF.
Megan Greene, the philanthropy coordinator for Alpha Gamma Delta, said of the event, “I think we had a really great turnout for our first food event. It was great to join forces with Delta Tau Delta to raise money for such an amazing cause.”
The Panhellenic community is so proud of Megan and all the hard work she put in to planning such an amazing event!
