Exec Spotlight: Kennedy Ezzell

August 2, 2017

Wondering what the Panhellenic Council's Vice President of Finance and Correspondence, Kennedy Ezzell, has been up to this summer? From making an impact in her community to enjoying time with family and friends, Kennedy had quite summer!

As a volunteer at Cardiac Rehabilitation at Augusta University, Kennedy helped patients implement a physically active lifestyle. When asked about her time at Cardiac Rehabilitation, Kennedy describes it as the highlight of her summer, especially getting to know the patients. She adds, "Being able to establish relationships with patients and be a part of their process is very rewarding. A majority of the patients are older and taught me many life lessons. I also enjoyed being in this facility due to getting to look a little into what life could be like being an actual Physical Therapist!" When she was not volunteering at Cardiac Rehabilitation, Kennedy spent much time applying to Physical Therapy school. Kennedy also took some time to relax on vacations to Folly Beach and Fripp Island with her family.

With only SIX days until Panhellenic Recruitment, Kennedy is gearing up to return to Athens and experience the exciting week while donning a red vest. Specifically, Kennedy is looking forward to watching people build relationships during the week between all parties involved in recruitment, whether it be between Gamma Chis and PNMs, or amongst PNMs themselves. "Recruitment is the place where these girls make their first college friends and find their home. These are the people that you will stay by your side all throughout college, shaping and growing with you over the next four years," she exclaims.

In terms of advice for incoming freshmen, Kennedy emphasizes the importance of staying true to oneself. She adds, "Whether it is recruitment or just college in general, this is a period of time where you are starting over and finding yourself all on your own. You will make so many genuine relationships by being proud of who you are and where you come from. The new relationships you make with strangers are beautiful because these strangers will quickly turn into your best friends!"

After classes start and Bid Day has passed, where can you find Kennedy? Sanford Stadium, of course! It does not matter what day of the week, when she walks past the field, Kennedy thinks about the Dawg Nation atmosphere and is proud to go to such an amazing university. "The past three years have gone by way too fast! I can’t wait to have my last football season as a student cheering between the hedges," she says. For Kennedy, the motto #GoDawgsGoGreek certainly speaks to her!
