Kappas Abroad
This semester, a few of Kappa Kappa Gamma's members decided to leave the comfort of Athens and take their studies overseas.
Katie Mulliken, a junior Kappa, is studying in Barcelona, Spain from September 5 to December 22. On Monday through Thursday, she takes four classes, Advanced Spanish, International Management, International Marketing Strategies, and a class on Barcelona called “Barcelona Then and Now.” When asked her about travelling outside of Barcelona, she hopes to travel to other European countries every other week. Two weekends ago she went to Tossa de Mar in Costa Brava, which is a little village on the northern coast of Spain.
This past weekend she went to Munich, Germany for Oktoberfest where she met up with two other Kappas, Lauren Gawey and Charlotte Reynolds. Lauren and Charlotte are both participating in a program called API in Florence, Italy from August 28 to December 16. Lauren is taking four classes (Child Psychology, Italian Food & Culture, Italian Language, and Modern Dance), while Charlotte is taking five classes (Marketing, Management, Italian Food & Culture, Intermediate Italian Language, and Florence sketchbook). They say that they will travel most weekends, and have already been to Cinque Terre, Monaco, Nice France, Pisa, and Munich (as mentioned before). This weekend, Katie, Charlotte, and Lauren will all meet back up again in Italy traveling to Capri, Positano and Pompeii together.
Clearly, the Kappas are having an amazing time abroad and are lucky enough to be able to meet back up for weekends, no matter where they are studying!
