Meet a President!
Spring semester is an exciting time for sororities! A new board is elected for the
upcoming year and the sorority, as a whole, experiences a rush of positive change. I had the opportunity to interview Megan Cohen, Sigma Delta Tau’s newly elected president, to understand what it’s like on the other side of the spectrum.
Megan Cohen is from Atlanta, Georgia and is majoring in Health Promotion with plans to go to nursing school. She is very involved on campus and enjoys being a part of Athens Clark County Mentors and UGA Society of Public Health Education. Additionally, she has gone abroad with UGA twice, once on a medical outreach trip in Peru and once on a Public Health Maymester to Croatia.
In her free time, Megan loves cooking, going to work out classes with her roommates and dancing at silent disco! When I talked to Megan about her job as president she told me that it has taught her a lot about managing time and scheduling. “At first it was really overwhelming, but after the first month I got used to setting a daily schedule and prioritizing my day,” she explained to me. Furthermore, Megan talked about how being president has helped her get to know people in the sorority that she didn’t know well before, specifically those who are also on Executive Board. She also expressed how much she loved getting to meet the other incredible sorority presidents!
Sigma Delta Tau is so excited to embrace the change in leadership and it is clear that
Megan Cohen is already doing a great job! We can’t wait to see what else she does for her sorority as president!
