Girls on the Run

Gamma Phi Beta believes in empowering their members to go above and beyond in order to achieve their dreams. That same belief is translated through their philanthropy, Girls on the Run. Girls on the Run is all about building strong girls to proactively provide opportunities for long-term success by inspiring the leaders of tomorrow by working with coaches to train for a 5k, all while learning just how much they can accomplish in life.

In order to raise money for Girls on the Run they host two annual events. The first is a Chili Cook-Off, which is held in October each year. Gamma Phi sisters, parents, and other Greek chapters on campus make teams and all compete to see who really does have the best Chili recipe. Gamma Phi Beta’s other event is in March each year and it is a Moon Ball competition. Moon Ball is a volleyball tournament that we host on our front lawn. Any student can make a team, but the competition can get super serious! It is always a great time at our philanthropy events, but what is most important is the impact we make on the girls lives.

The Girls on the Run organization is fundamentally important to Gamma Phi Beta, as they truly believe that they are strong women building up these girls to be strong women as well. Helping empower and inspire these girls not only changes their lives, but it also changes the lives of the members in Gamma Phi Beta.
