Sham-Rock Your Socks Off
Kappa Delta at UGA is passionate about getting the community involved in raising money for their national philanthropy, Prevent Child Abuse America (PCAA)! PCAA partners with at risk families to prevent child abuse or neglect from ever occurring in order to ensure the healthy development of a child. All chapters of Kappa Delta individually choose their Shamrock philanthropy event. UGA Kappa Delta has chosen to annually host a 5KD and a Waffle House dinner. Kappa Delta held their 3rd annual 5KD race on March 1st. Approximately 600 people signed up for the 5KD, and over $8,000 was raised at the race alone. Kappa Delta hosted their Waffle House dinner on Sunday, March 22nd. All proceeds from both the 5KD race and the Waffle House dinner will go directly to PCAA with 80% of that money remaining here in Athens benefiting our local chapter of PCAA. The members of Kappa Delta love hosting these Shamrock Events and witnessing first hand the direct impact that is being made in the Athens community by raising this money. In total, Kappa Delta raised $33,764!
