Sigma Delta Tau Eta Chapter was very excited to introduce their new spring philanthropy event: Treat Yourself: A Trunk Show Benefitting Mental Health Awareness. This event had a variety of local vendors, such as Madeebylexi, Classic City Beads, Soaps and Stilettos, Studio Chen, Belletique, and Ekkos for Africa, with proceeds going towards the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). NAMI has hundreds of affiliates around the country and aims to end the stigma surrounding mental illness and offer individual support to families and individuals affected by various mental health diseases. The organization is responsible for educating the public about issues regarding mental illness, as well as advocating for positive, public policy supporting mental health programs throughout America. It relies fully on donations and Sigma Delta Tau was so thankful to have had the opportunity to contribute! Admission to Treat Yourself was completely free; all donations came directly from the money spent while the attendees shopped! We were extremely proud to have such an amazing turnout at Hendershots Coffee from 5-7pm on March 30th as people of all ages had so much fun eating yummy snacks provided by the venue and shopping for jewelry, pottery, soaps, prints, and clothing.
