Panhellenic's Community Service Committee
The Community Service committee of UGA's Panhellenic Council aims to help Panhellenic step off of campus grounds and work with the Athens-Clarke County community as a whole. Each year, the girls primarily work with the Boys and Girls Club for two events: the Easter Egg Hunt in the spring and the Trunk-or-Treat event in the fall. However, this year they hope to branch out from just these two events and encompass more organizations. This semester already, we worked with Project Safe at their thrift store in town, organizing and sorting clothes. Next semester we have big plans to work with even more organizations, along with the support of the other Greek councils on campus.
Marie Godiers said, "Leading the Community Service committee and the great members involved (Anna Jaggears, Charlotte Tippett, Emily McCord, Maddie Kanter, Summer Dawn Neel) has already been so rewarding. Being a director for this committee was a goal I had my heart set on very early on after being welcomed into the Panhellenic family. I wanted to continue the community outreach that I so heavily practiced in high school on an even larger scale here at UGA. Not only have I been given the exciting opportunity to do this, but I have been able to do it with the aid of some outstanding women. I’m looking forward to carrying on our work and goals next semester! "
