Dawgs, Dogs and Hotdogs

On April 7th, Chi Omega held their annual spring philanthropy event, Dawgs for a Cause! The event was held from 6-8pm on the Chi Omega lawn! Cookout-style food was provided for all guests, in addition to corn-hole, live music, and PUPPIES!! They even had a little hotdog eating competition; shoutout to the back-to-back champion, Anna Parks Muecke!

This event is unique because each year, the members of Chi O vote on which organizations they want Dawgs for a Cause to benefit. Members submit suggestions and then the entire chapter votes on it. This year Chi Omega was fortunate enough to chose two philanthropies. The first organization they chose was the Christopher Aguirre Memorial Foundation. This foundation financially supports a student attending Florida State University for all four years. Christopher Aguirre is the brother of one of our Recruitment Chairs, Gabi Aguirre. Christopher attended FSU but later passed. When Gabi presented the idea to the chapter, the vote was unanimous! The second organization we chose to benefit was the Athens Area Humane Society. The humane society is a local animal shelter that has a “no-kill” policy. Each year, the rescue over 5,000 animals, and they even provided puppies for guests to play with!

Dawgs for a Cause was a huge success, as over 500 people were in attendance and Chi Omega would like to thank everyone for their support. For more information on both organizations, follow the links below!
