Exec Spotlight: Becca Pannek
Meet the UGA Panhellenic President, Becca Pannek! Becca, who hails from Gainesville, Georgia, is a rising senior, majoring in Public Relations with a minor in Communication Studies. This summer, however, this born and raised Georgia girl experienced something new.
Living in Charlotte, North Carolina, Becca has been selling diabetes medication for a pharmaceutical company- Eli Lilly. Working for Lilly certainly shaped Becca's summer and she expanded her horizons by learning about the overall pharmaceutical industry and, more specifically, the treatment of diabetes. Becca exclaims, "I have loved exploring an unfamiliar place, meeting new coworkers and friends, and prepping for recruitment while I’m away from Athens."
With only TWO days until Panhellenic Recruitment 2017, that is certainly Becca's top priority. When asked about what aspect of recruitment she is looking forward to, Becca answered "I am most excited for that moment in Tate Grand Hall when the PNMs flip over their bid day cards! I can’t wait to look at the sea of screaming girls and smile so big because they all found their homes at UGA." In terms of advice for PNMs, Becca emphasizes the fact that the University of Georgia has much to offer, in addition to Panhellenic life. "Whether you decide to join a sorority or not, I encourage you to seek out all that this place can give you for the best 4 (or 5) years of your life," she says.
Once everyone has returned to Athens and the chaos surrounding Panhellenic Recruitment has subsided, where can you find Becca? Sanford Stadium, of course! "Saturdays between are the hedges are where I’ve made all of my best college memories. Waking up on game day gives me chills everytime. GO DAWGS!"
